In FF4kster's Weapon editor, you can see the names of the Palettes normally used for the weapons.
I was curious about the palettes that did
not have names (and there are a TON of them) I noticed that they, in fact, are perfectly usable! That's not to say all of them are WORTH using, but there ARE some pretty nice palettes hidden in the depths. And those palettes of epicness need names.
So begins The FF4kster 255 Weapon Palette Naming project.
Why am I attempting to give all the un-named palettes names, you ask? Mostly out of pure curiousity, mixed with some free time and a smidgen of boredom. Plus, I'm sure someone out there could benefit from this info.
Currently 70 palettes now have names (counting the ones that were already named), and named in the same general manner as the normal Palettes.
I also gave some of the palettes nicknames, to more or less give a mental image of how the colors are used. I put question marks at the beginning and ends of the names of the first and last normal palette (?palette name?) so they'll still be fairly easy to find. I have not changed any of the normal palettes' names, as that
just wouldn't be right.
This is an edited "palettes.dat" file from FF4kster's config folder. Just back up your own "palettes.dat" somewhere, and put the attached file in it's place. I'll post updates as I get chunks of them named (hoping to double the amount of names by tomorrow or so).
If anyone's opposed to me posting this up, just let me know and I'll remove it. I don't want to anger the FF4kster Gods.

Update 7/2: Names for palettes used by spells edited to show some spell names (To better recognize them in the Spell Editor). Should balance out how I'm listing the colors for the Weapons editor (and to hopefully avoid confusion). Ironically enough the spells don't use any of the palettes above what I've already named, so now all spell palettes are labaled!

Update2 7/2: Seems I can't alter palette labels above 99. Until I find some workaround for that (if thiere is one) I've updated the palettes.dat attached to the post. Now palettes 1-99 are named!
