Title: FF4ET Enemy Item Drops...
Post by: Deathlike2 on December 17, 2007, 03:56:55 PM
Even after all this time, there isn't a document that lists what the enemies drop in Easytype. The drop list is a hybrid of FF2/4 as far as I can tell, but some drops are much more ridiculous.. such as easy to harvest Golden Apples by Kuars and obscene numbers of Grimore drops.
I think it is worth extracting this list.. to smack people over the head as to why FF4ET is certainly different than FF2 US.

Offtopic: What really bugs me is when people say that FF2us was FF4ET with some stuff changed. Its just not. Just like FFMQ was here first before the Jpn release.

Well, it's like 10% (maybe 20%) of the game that's changed. Obviously you play the game the same for the most part.. but the differences become apparently moreso late game... and certainly once you get the Coral Sword, you know it wasn't just "changes for the sake of changes".
Maybe it's just me, but the majority of the weapon/armor tweaks should have been used in FF4A (most of these tweaks are balanced)... because a number of them don't really shine at all.. just crappy for the most part.

Those lists are for FF4 and FF2, not FF4ET. I'm serious when I say that the item drops are different (mostly a semi-combined effort of both FF2+4 for most existing enemies).. really, I think you should take a real look.
For a start, take a look at the Blackcat enemy (FF2 name, Tower of Babel enemy via Eblan Cave) in FF4ET. It drops one of the Apples (I forget which). Also, take a look at the Clapper enemy (FF2 name, a summoned monster in the Land of Summoned Monsters)... it seems to strictly drop Cure3 potions (X-Potions or whatever you prefer to call them).

Well he says: "Items Dropped (Easytype Version)", so I assumed he meant FF4ET.

You do realize that he fell into the same mistake to interchange FF4ET with FF2...
I've read at a couple of sites in the past that Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was released in America before it was released in Japan as Final Fantasy USA and Mystic Quest Legend in Europe.
