I love random related correlation...   :bored: :omghax: :zemogus: :setzecante:

The only real thing Float prevents is Quake from healing someone with Gaia Gear.

Edit:

The only other thing would be affected is the weapon bonus for "floating" targets would apply for the small number of weapons that have it. Since Disaster causes Confuse status, it would make Locke a tad more annoying if he has such a weapon equipped.

Use the targeting of "Quick", since that is a self-buff spell.

The only "self targeting bug" that I recall is the Heal Rod.. so that may or may not have an impact of what you're doing.

For a command... try using the same targeting that Morph or Runic has (or maybe even Slot, Rage, Dance, Mimic).

Sorry if I'm totally off.

I am thrilled that ME was not mentioned.

You would get better XP support by design though...

No, not DOS games, some older Win95 stuff that doesn't get along with Windows 7 x64 too well. Trust me, I've looked into every common solution for these problems, solved them for some games, but there just aren't any fixes for the few the remain. The most irritating one at the moment, since I want to play through it again now that I've got the expansion, is Tiberian Sun. It runs awfully on modern hardware, and the only "solution" is to disable hardware acceleration for DirectDraw, which results in a blank screen on some hardware, mine included. The game's utterly unplayable once you have more than a handful of units on the screen at once, due to constant framerate fluctuations.

Well, Tiberian Sun is free... and it does run insanely slow, but I'm not sure what you can do about that. The problem is if you do plan to run an older OS, is if you have that aging hardware to go with it. Attempts to use modern systems with such an OS is asking for trouble.

Another one, the Win95 version of SimCity 2000, crashes any time you attempt to save. For now I'm playing the DOS version, but that's capped at 640x480, Win95 can run at your desktop resolution. (I've also heard SimCity 3000 craps out on multi-core processors, but I haven't tried that one myself, never liked it as much as 2K or 4.) I could probably get away with using XP for them, but I'd rather go 98, some of these games already had minor issues on XP.

You are far better using XP for this. If your system specs are low enough, you "might" be able to manage Win98.

Alternatively... the other solution is to run something like VMWare for this purpose. This might require some inordinate amount of overhead, but it is more likely to work with something as old as you are describing.

Are these games DOS based? DOSBox should more well enough.

If they aren't DOS games, at least mention what they are...

Besides... what OS are you using? 2k/XP or whatever compatibility should be "enough" unless there's some issues I'm not keen to.
Usually, the main problem is not upgrading your drivers especially if you run through an upgrade process and not a clean install.

If worse comes to worse... yarrrgghhhh!

I think the FF5 version of the undead healing behavior made a lot more sense... you could then program quite a bit more stuff as a reaction. FF4's version is meh.

Subsequently, it makes the new undead monsters in FF6A retarded.

I never did care for that item.

After a major hiatus, and a hiatus from my online gaming addiction... I've finally produced this:

It exposed a bug, and I have truly yet to make Rubicant a threat... but it is progress.

One key notable change... he will actually be resistant to fire... unlike the original.. but there will be a twist.

Actually... I've yet to redo King+Queen Eblan... that one will definitely have some amusement in monster creation construction.

 :bump:

This bug also affects monsters as well.

For instance, Rubicant uses a multitargeted Fire2 as a counter to physical attacks. This is exploited in Edge's solo battle with Rubicante.

Although.. this code is disabled/changed in FF4A... can someone verify this?

Final Fantasy IV Research & Development / Re: Steal/Sneak Command
« on: August 19, 2010, 12:08:24 PM »
Well... I like Steal for the most part, since you can have unlimited steal.

Anyways..

For FF4A, this is the breakdown:

MaxHP < 4096, damage = 2
4096 <= MaxHP < 8192, damage = 258
MaxHP >= 8192, damage = 514

Will test FF4 next.

 :edit:

MaxHP < 4096, damage  = 0 (I've seen 2 or 3 in Eblan's Cave, I'm not sure why that happens)
4096 <= MaxHP < 8192, damage = 256
MaxHP >= 8192, damage = 512

Although, I have programmed the AI to "steal" from itself to dish out damage, so it's more like MaxHP/16 = damage where MaxHP >= 4096 and is rounded down to the nearest power of 2 or something along those lines... it would be nice if someone got around to calculating it.. but at some point I'll try it out myself.

I wonder what the formula is for the damage taken on a failed steal + damage.

Even then, Brett Favre has the ego of the size of the state he's playing for.

Today, ESPN is tracking Favre on his trip to the Vikings. The asskissing is in full force.
