Hey hey. I don't post in here much, but uh...I made this: FFV: Legend of the Crystals.

It's largely unchanged from the RPGe version, except for the dialogue text, which I just applied a light dusting to.

Use it as a base for your next patch! Why not? It's not like I own the thing. :finger:

I had a look at that the other day. To be honest I see nothing wrong with the original translation by RPGe. If you don't like "Butz" you can simply change his name ingame.

Another thing: Faris saying "The wind... it's gone." could me misinterpreted. It might seem like the wind has been missing for a long time. The same can be said about Galuf's line "The Wind's stopped".

The reasoning behind the change was that saying the wind "stopped" didn't sound like natural english to me, plus the word itself ("gone") is a more ominous-sounding word than "stopped..." I guess I was trying to follow the tone of the music in that scene, which is very dark and ominous.

Well, if we're looking at 'proper grammar', this keeps bugging me every time I see it:

Galuf: 'You gotta take me with!' as he follows Lina, at the very beginning.

It always struck me as needing 'you' at the end of that.

Just to remind Spooniest what we wanted changed:

'You gotta take me with!' should be 'You gotta take me with you!' at least. :D

Also you may wanna review that part about 'The wind... it's stopped' that Jorgur mentioned. I think 'the wind... it's stopped' worked well, but I'm not so sure about 'it's gone'.

One other thing - I'd consider adding noisecross's menu patch to Legend of the Crystals.

I noticed a few inconsistent applications of spaces after ..., do you need -those- documented?

One question (and this is an example):

Bartz: Why are you giving me that look?!!
Wark! Wark wark! 

Why do things like that never have 'Boco: Wark!' ?
It can't always be that actually Bartz is going wark wark? :D

Sometimes I see "..." that I'm not sure belongs to a certain person or not.

Then there's
Bartz: Boco, it's dangerous ahead. You've got stay back here

Which needs to be 'You've got to stay back here'. Or alternatively: You stay back here.  Or  You stay here.

Right now I'm trying to figure out why sometimes Galuf has 0 damages punching things in the first cave occasionally. Sometimes 6, sometimes 0... (Probably something to do with minimum M... will have to look again later.)

BTW, why 'Parlay'? (or was it 'Parley'? I can't remember if it was a misspelling or if _I_ misremember)
