Final Fantasy VI Advance (GBA) (No Esper Run)

Having some trouble with the Fanatic Tower. Don't have high enough levels to pull of the win against the Magic Master. Time to do some leveling lulz.

Just got the platinum bolt from the Thugs Rendezvous area in Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando. Fuck, that was not easy.

Gotten quite a bit of progress in the game. I'm rebuilding my old save, which my sister accidentally deleted. -_-

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (Wii)
In what is quite possibly the biggest oversight in this game, EXP is still divided by the number of characters in the party, even characters that are no longer gaining EXP. Once I found that out, I started leveling at a much faster rate in Edward's Tale (Edward and Harley can hold their own now), but it's still going to take forever. Unfortunately that is not an option for Porom's Tale, since I'm still taking way too much damage to have every hit focused on two characters.
Had a little fun with NBA Jam V1.0 (U).  And that's playing it old school with actual hardware!

I love this game.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (Wii)
I maxed out both remaining parties. It took about three hours, spread between yesterday afternoon, night, and this morning, but I'm finally done with it. It had better be worth the trouble. I did manage to pick up some nice new equipment in Edward's Tale, but Porom's was a total waste of time. I can't wait until the last tale comes out, so I can finally go back to having fun with this game.
:edit:
I decided to play Golbez's Tale a bit more, since I had only run through his challenge dungeon twice, I believe, and I wanted see if I could get him some better equipment. On my second run through this time, I got a proof of courage item. There is another challenge dungeon on the moon (inside the face), I originally thought this was something that wouldn't be available until the last tale, but when I took that item in I got access to the dungeon. It's bigger than the first one, had plenty of treasure, and the floors modify themselves slightly each time you enter (bridges move, walls appear, etc. so you need to do more than one run to get at all the treasure). I ended up getting some nice goodies: an Aegis shield, the Defender, and a Rare Band that supposedly makes rare items appear more often (I think the only item I've gotten since getting that was a fire arrow).

The boss is kind of pathetic, but only because I'm abusing it by casting Haste and Berserk on Golbez while he has the blood sword equipped. That pretty much protects him from the nastier attacks, since Berserk is back to being game-breakingly awesome as intended, and he can restore almost all of his HP before the next attack. The boss does use Stone Touch, which means you do have to keep the mop alive so he can cast Esuna/use a gold needle, otherwise Golbez will likely turn to stone before the battle ends. Unlike Doom, Haste doesn't seem to make gradual petrify's timer move any faster, at least. The boss's gimmick is that his attacks get stronger every time you use magic on it, which I completely avoid by having Golbez do all of the damage.
played through ff7 via psn.  enjoyed it much more than i did 11 years ago.  perfected ruby (doublecast life2, double summon hades/kotr, mime ad infinitum) and had an entertaining fight with emerald before killing it, too (the stronger single-hit beam was a one-shotter for all of my guys, so there was a decent amount of resurrecting going on... double-item phoenix down + elixir came in handy).

had to use an elixir on seraph sephiroth to keep him from dying before he could show me solar flare... cid's ultima counters were wearing him down, and yuffie's doublecasted quadra-flare did a hell of a lot more damage than i had expected (i had only done it for entertainment value, and then it landed for over 4k per hit).

omnislash did over 110,000.

and i barely did any stat-source grinding (20 mins max)...

finally playing twilight princess now.  just had zelda fade into nothingness after telling me i need to get the master sword.  so far, i'm finding this to be very easy, even for a zelda game... the only part i've had any trouble with was the joust on the bridge (it to a few tries to figure out how you were supposed to do it).

it's an excellent ride, though - i'm totally hooked and in zelda mode now!

I've been wanting to play through FF7 again for a while now. I started a game some time last year, but never really got anywhere.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (Wii)
After finding an entire dungeon I missed in Golbez's Tale, I decided it might be a good idea to go back through the others and see if I could find anything else...and I did, unexpectedly. In Rydia's Tale, inside the Agart Mine, there is an empty room. I figured something was up with this room, so I was searching every tile I could, when I got into a battle with quarto puppets. They ended up dropping a mythril bolt, which is a key item needed to get a better ending to this tale. I didn't realize that at the time, and it's pure luck that I ran into the puppets and got the item in one battle. The puppets only appear on a waning moon (The guy in Agart who talks about monsters only says "half full;" the green dragon appears on a waxing moon.), and they don't always drop the item. At the time, I had no idea what to do with the bolt, and I decided to look it up at GameFAQs, only to find they also drop a mythril nut. I fought them for a while, got both items, replayed the ending of the tale, and now Calca and Brina are alive again and ready for use in the final tale.

I also made numerous runs through Edge's challenge dungeon, and got a whole load of equipment for him and his ninja buddies. I didn't find anything in the other tales; I'm debating whether I want to check GameFAQs for more things I may have missed or not.
Final Fantasy XII (PS2)

Felt like playing this again, but I've left it sit for far too long, and I don't remember what's going on in terms of story. I just got the sword of kings, which is a pretty crappy sword in battle, considering it's supposed to be a legendary weapon and all. I returned to the temple on top of the mountain and got my ass handed to me by some judges. Yay.

I'd start a new game, but I've already put nearly 40 hours into this. I'm not looking forward to doing all of that again, even if I can't remember the majority of it.

I think you're where I was when I quit the first time. Were you in Mt. Bur-something (the big snowy one)? It does get kinda brutal from that point.

Yeah, that's where I am. I finished off the judges, I had to switch the battle mode over to wait so I could get some spells cast without worrying about my characters stupidly draining all of their MP. Now I've got to get to this place halfway across the world, and can't figure out how. I thought I found a direct route there, but the boat is missing.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (Wii)
The last tale came out today, and I nearly forgot about it. :isuck:

Anyway, I played up to the moon. The beginning was kind of interesting: You get free reign of the world for the first time, and need to visit every place on the map. The goal of this is never really stated, but it turns out you need to get Rydia's Eidolons back...or kill them, it actually doesn't seem to make any difference. (I killed Ramuh and Shiva before I realized you didn't actually need to kill them, just weaken them. It's kind of like the Rubicante fight in the original; if you want to see his final words, you need to fight very carefully so you don't over damage him. Same thing here, but with a much more reasonable amount of remaining HP.) After this, you get access to Baron castle, and then fly to the moon on the Lunar Whale.

Once on the moon, you have access to everyone except for the useless nameless characters (surprise, surprise! all of that wasted EXP...), and can form your own party. Amusingly, Cecil is basically wheelchair Cloud at this point, yet you can still drag him into battle and have full control over him. The moon's surface is completely different than before, and is actually a dungeon; you can't save anywhere, and can dash with the B button. Very strange. You have access to the subterrane through a crater rather than the crystal palace. The subterrane itself is actually mirrored for some reason, with some minor edits that weren't there when Golbez and FuSoYa last ran through. You fight bosses from the original game, released from crystals. I killed Baigan, but then got killed by the magus sisters, who are much more brutal than originally. It probably doesn't help that I chose to take my weaker characters, rather than tearing through with my best.

I hope I'm not too close to the end, but I have a feeling this will be the last dungeon...
:edit:
This moon never ends. I gave up on using my weaker characters, and just took my best in with me. Killed all of the revived bosses (magus sisters, Lugae + Barnabas, CPU + Nodes, Scarmiglione, Cagnazzo, Barbariccia, Rubicante), then reached a new area with a new tileset. Much like some of the new monsters, this tileset doesn't match the rest of the graphics at all, and I swear I've seen it before somewhere. Anyway, in here you fight a lot of enemies that were previously in the Lunar Ruins, which was a bit of a surprise, and you also get a lot of the GBA version exclusive equipment. Te bosses here, so far, have been from FF1, FF2, FF3, and FF5, so I'm guessing FF6 is up next. The translation has kind of fallen apart here, though, with well-established enemies/bosses being named differently than normal (Beelzebul, Lord Dragon (Shinryu), Coeurl Legina), and I now have the Excalipar (they seem to have settle on "poor" lately, "pur" was used frequently, but never "par"). The dialogue itself has held up well, thankfully.

For the bosses, there's not much to say. They replicated some of their behavior, while FF4-izing it. Ahriman (the FF3 one, not the common enemy) was particularly fun. It's a ripoff of Plague; it casts Doom on the party, then starts Hasting everyone (which actually speeds up the timer in this version). The thing is, you don't have nearly enough time to kill it in one go, you need to actually kill off two or more of your characters, so you can revive your others for the next "round." Every time Doom status expires it casts it again, but it doesn't use any other attacks - once you get this down it's really simple, but still, a fun battle due to the unconventional strategy.

I got killed by Lord Dragon; one tidal wave and I was gone. I didn't try fighting Omega, but Gilgamesh was pretty pathetic. One thing I wish they did was import the boss music from these games for these battles, that would've been awesome. I think I need to do some leveling/ I haven't had any real trouble with the other bosses, but the random encounters are really wearing me down.  My party averages about level 60 now.
:edit:
Lord Dragon and Omega are optional, thankfully. I had a feeling that they would be, since they aren't found in crystals, but I wasn't sure. Only Gilgamesh and Atmos (yes, Atmos) had to be killed. Atmos was pretty pathetic, all he did was cast Meteor every turn, which wasn't enough to cause any real concern. I went down to the FF6 bosses and killed Ghost Train. They imported its Wheel attack (which makes the character it hit spin backwards, hilariously), and it can use Shiva's Diamond Dust for some reason. Not a difficult fight, but not as easy as FF6, since you can't kill it in one hit with a Phoenix Down.

Now Ultros, Ultros is a bastard. He starts out really weak, he has his tentacle attack, but that's of no real concern. He retains his fire weakness, so getting 9999 against him is easy enough. The problem is, after you get him weaken enough, he'll absorb all elements, start healing himself, and using Tidal Wave. Tidal Wave is non-elemental, and gets stronger the more HP he has. He can deal about 4000 damage with it if he's healed up, which he almost always is. There's no way I can survive that at this point.

I got bored with dying, and decided to use the interdimensional elevator to teleport out and bring my weaker characters through. I have a feeling Calca and Brina will be my strongest characters, they're out-performing level 50 characters at level 30. Their HP growth sucks though, so they die really easily. Their special skills aren't that great either, but stat-wise, they're pretty good.
Diablo II: Lord of Destruction (PC)

After Kabucho, DarknessSavior, and practically everyone else bailed on this, I pressed on. I was getting through Act II on Hell difficulty at a snail's pace (literally, cause half of everything is immune to physical). In any event, I was playing using a mod called PlugY (plays as though you're on battle.net) which more or less has been interesting. As I was crawling through act II though, I ran into something...shall we say unpleasant. As explained to me, this is Uber Diablo. He hits way too freaking hard.

Anyway, after spending 2 hours trying to get the staff out of there, I finally did and realized the bastard likes to teleport, so any hopes of killing him quickly faded. After quitting and re-loading, I resumed trying to get through the act. Like what came before Uber D, it went slowly. Once I got to the Arcane Sanctuary, however, progress came to a screeching halt. Basically, the place is infested with ghost-types which are physical immune and they had the tendency to corner me. It look me a full day just to get through the act.

Shortly thereafter, an idea came to me. DarknessSavior actually gave the idea, without really giving it. See, he was playing Diablo II windowed so he could keep an eye on the chat in IRC. At that point I thought to myself, "there's no way this can work." I tried to load two instances of the game, and load they did. My idea was to start a TCP/IP game, with me being both the host and joinee. "This is impossible, it can't work." So what happened? It worked. Since the traffic isn't going in and out of the internet, it's acting as though I'm on a local network and thus I can multitask Diablo II.

This helped me finish Hell Ancients, which then allowed me to finally beat the game with my Paladin.

At this point, I'm killing random named stuff trying to acquire set items in hopes of attempting to kill some of this Uber quest BS. I've all but given up trying to multitask, though. It only works on act I cause that's the only manageable act on Hell.

119 bugs fixed and counting.
