SD3 discussion

I decided to make a topic for SD3 discussion not related to hacking.

To start off, what are your favorite strategies and set-ups?

I don't know about specific strategies but I usually tend to have two buffers and one buff recipient with offensive skills.

Oh, and why is there truckloads of fan art of Lise/Riesz but barely anything for Angela?

I'm guessing most fan-art is Japanese in origin, and Japan seems to have a thing for blondes. That's the best explanation I can come up with, atleast.

Here is a crapload of assorted fan-art:

Yeah, advertising this forum isn't going to be easy.

Romhacking.net deleted my topic a while back and now, GameFAQS is deleting a topic I made for Praetarius' fix patch.

Reason? Illegal activity involving ROMs. According to them, you need the ROM to use the patch in the first place (which I seriously doubt but hey, what do I know?)

Meanwhile, they allow a huge hacking topic on the NES Final Fantasy board to exist. The topic has PAGES of hex code you can use to change the game with. You could easily make all the IPS patches you could want.

I don't like GameFAQs much. They obey the spirit of the law concerning copyright (which basically forbids anything against commercial interests). What exactly did you do on those sites that was considered illegal?

What did I do? I posted a link to the bug fix patch.

There's a link in another (now archived) topic that also points to the same site. However, they didn't bother with it because, supposedly, no one marked it. Which is a load of crap, if you ask me. That topic was pretty big on the SD3 forum for a while so there's NO way the moderators could have missed it.

As we speak, there's also that topic from the NES Final Fantasy board which has truckloads of hex hacking data for the ROM. The topic exists since 2008 and is PINNED, meaning it will always appear on top of the topic list.

There was also one time long ago where they closed my topic because I was discussing modifications to the save state file. This one is particularly stupid because they have GUIDES that DISCUSS how to DO JUST THAT.

ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE.

The administrator seems to be the only one with ANY amount of sense. Every time I got a successful appeal, it was because of the administrator.

I swear to god that the near-entirety of my moderated forum activity, on ANY site, is because of those douche clowns from GameFAQS.

There's nothing like that on any other forum, let alone this one.

Still glad to hear it, though. :)

The verdict is in.

My topic is in violation of the rules. If I think those other topics are in violation, I'm welcome to report them because expecting them to know about every topic is unreasonable.

EVEN if that topic is stickied (meaning the GameFAQS staff KNOWS IT EXISTS) on top of the top rated NES board.

I WOULD report that topic out of spite but it's actually useful to preserving the game's legacy.

I'm torn between calling them incompetent or hypocritical.

I'd go with lazy or over-bureaucratic - otherwise they'd look into it, if you show an explicit comparison topic.

and just let them be...
otherwise we might lose too much art. (good hacks should be considered art, but that's just my opinion)

Moderators at GameFAQs are blockheads, you cannot reason with them despite giving them arguments. I really hate that you cannot know who reported you and who modded you. They can abuse their powers & claim they are just obeying the rules (which they only take on their convenience).

** Rant **
A few days ago I was reported for using a bad word. The reason was because the TC wanted to know what it said (it was in a different language) in a screenshot, so I translated for him. They claimed I passed the censor. Of course I did, how can I write something that it doesn't allow me to make a post. Posting a bad word and calling someone with it is different. I'm not insulting anyone, in fact they are insulting me, but I can't report them.

That's why I never bothered creating more FAQs (for memory addresses), I can just place in my site and manage them as I please, no need to deal with people that can't reason.

BTW, this is the topic:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/610657-dota-2/71685491

And this is the deleted post exactly like it was (typo included):

Yea he probably meant meant fa*got, but that's not what he wrote.

Sounds about par for the course.

But yeah, I don't post a lot on GameFAQS forums anymore. Like W.O.P.R. from War Games says, the only winning move is not to play.

I like going on a forum where I can talk about stuff without getting modded for whatever reason. Ironically, this is pretty much any other site, as far as I'm concerned.
