Where'd all the sticky threads go!?

 :omg: :wtf: :blits:

Don't worry, retarded Sabin! The index of this board was getting really cluttered up, so I destickied them and placed links to them in the Welcome to FF4 R&D thread instead. The important stuff is just as easy to locate, but you no longer need to scroll down ~85% of the page to get to the non-sticky threads.

Nice job cleaning it up. I didn't realize how cluttered it looked until now. Thanks, have a cookie:  :cookie:

If you have any suggestions for other useful topics to go in the welcome thread, just let me know. I added the NDS and TAY research threads (I really need to get around to redoing the NDS thread one of these days).

It is good to see some cleaning up in this forum. An index thread is a good idea, but there is still much to be done.
It is really hard for a viewer to look up information here, because everything is so spread out and assorted. Some topic pruning and/or merging could help significantly.

Anyone who tries to find information that way is bound to fail; we simply have too many threads. Even if they were perfectly organized, it wouldn't help in the least. This forum has a search function, and I've never had it fail to find what I'm looking for. Also, Deathlike already has the most important information in his Algorithm guide, and most of the hacking information has been worked into a new document I'm not quite ready to publish yet.

The forum is mostly here for discussion. Whether it would clean the place up or not, I'm not going to prune the forum or move things around. The life of this place is in the discussions, and I want to keep those intact. As Nightcrawler over at RHDN says, a forum is not a good place to store information. That's not really what it's here for, it's here to post new findings, discuss them, and (eventually) put that information up somewhere else.

For the most part, I agree that the main purpose of these forums is discussion between hackers. Still, I believe collecting and sharing information and links to information is just as important. After all, the FF hacking community isn't exactly big, so gathering what little there is in one location would be the most practical for both hackers and viewers.

You say the board is mainly for discussion, yet there are tons of topics without any replies at all - often containing tiny bits of information on a specific subject.
Here is an example:
Quote from: Spirits Not Immune to Death Attacks
Despite having immunity to Death spells, it's not immune to physical attacks that apply Death status.
Undead and Machines are not affected by this.
These are the kind of topics that can be pruned or merged within others. Instead of letting this piece of information float around in a separate thread, it could be incorporated into a document or a relevant topic.

Am I going to get killed if I ask for this thread to be stickied? XD
