Turn Kevin into a Death Hand. He will kill everything.
You're assuming I'm reading a guide or someone's helping me as I go. Whatever happens, happens.

:edit:

I was saved exactly where I thought I was. Today it was "do more stuff," which wound up beating some God-Beasts (and that's a terrible name). Two of them are dead at this moment (wind and pumpkin). All three members of my party are level 25, and I'm still holding my own.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (Wii)
Yeah, I'm done with Yang's tale, outside of trying for the red tail or running through the challenge dungeon again for more items. It took almost no time to hit the level cap, and the challenge dungeon wasn't very challenging...this one was just disappointing all around.
:edit:
Started Palom's tale last night and finished it up this afternoon. It took me less time to beat than Yang's, yet felt longer, figure that one out. It was a lot more fun, anyway, but still felt pretty limited compared to the main game or Rydia's tale. I took a peek into the challenge dungeon and died on my first battle there; I get the feeling I'm going to need to grind for this one, like the first two.

Edge's tale was pretty interesting, it was the longest of these three (I didn't check my game time though), and pretty much let you revisit a bunch of places from the earlier tales, plus the Tower of Babil. You get five characters in this one (named characters, no less!), but they all kind of sucked at the end...probably just need to gain a few levels. Haven't checked out the challenge dungeon yet, I needed a break from it.

...and now to wait another month.
:edit:
I forgot to mention, I got a Cockatrice summon for Rydia during Edge's tale. I'll have to wait until the final chapter to actually make use of it.
Seiken Densetsu 3 (SNES)

Well, my progress has me at one more God-Beast dead (the giant fireball). However, the regular monsters I'm encountering here and everywhere else are way tougher than the bosses. I have the best equipment I can get at the moment, but I have a feeling I'm way behind on levels. :scared:

Yeah, MKendora was bitching about the grinding needed to get past some enemies in the game... Me, I naturally grind as part of how I play RPGs, so I never noticed.

Quote
<MKendora> Disch: because after the last beast thing, you need to gain like 20 levels to beat the next boss.
<MKendora> worse than SD3, where you can pretty much fight any boss with a little prep up until the end, where you suddenly need 20 levels to stand a chance?
<MKendora> I mean it. It's terrible design to have a 20 level gap between bosses that can be accessed nearly sequentially.
Sounds like the last boss is going to be a pain. (This was him bitching on three different days, by the way...)

He's exaggerating the levels needed... Just keep your levels synced up to the enemies and you'll be fine for most of the later bosses.

Me as well.  Grinding is an activity that isn't as boring if you make mini games out of it.  Try and do as much sinle damage, fastest battle win or take no dmg.  Things like that.  Plus some games I enjoy grinding, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy IIus and Romancing SaGa series to name a few.

Seiken Densetsu 3 (SNES)

Seven of the 8 God-Beasts (:banonsmash:) are dead, :banonsmash: style. The giant rock with an eyeball, a wolf that defies gravity, and a giant machine all died as easily as the others. The regular monsters are still insanely powerful though.

My next stop is the Cave of Darkness. :omg: The entire team is level 37.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (Wii)
Gained a few levels in both tales yesterday, and ventured into their challenge dungeons. Palom's is randomly generated, just like the Lunar Ruins. The floors are named, for the convenience of walkthrough writers everywhere. I got past the flan floor with no problem, but got killed as soon as I got to the next one. Edge's is very interesting, the soldier in the beginning tells you that it's speed based and you'll get better items based on how fast you get through. There is an on-screen timer, which doesn't run in battle. The dungeon is absolutely loaded with treasure compared to the others, no doubt to slow you down, but I didn't get very far in it. It looks like I still need to gain a bunch of levels in both tales.
37? Do the Class Change, your characters will gain a great deal of power.

Seiken Densetsu 3 (SNES)

Game beaten. What commenced was an Archdemon beatdown, but it took a while. All of his attacks hurt (about 250 damage if buffed up, easily 500 if not) and my healing supplies weened. I had to use Kevin's healing a bit to stave off drying up the supplies. To top it off, I had to resort to letting the team die so revival would get them to full HP. But yeah, I beat it. :childish: My team finished at level 45.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (Wii)
Well, I'm finally making progress in Edge's challenge dungeon. I leveled up in the cave of Eblan/path to the Tower of Babil/Tower of Babil itself for a bit, then started leveling in the dungeon itself. I found some nice gear in the challenge dungeon, which is definitely making it easier. I can't seem to get under 20 minutes through the dungeon yet; time does count in battles, it just isn't displayed. Right now I'm more worried about leveling than getting the ultimate item or whatever from this dungeon.

I've had absolutely no luck with Palom's dungeon. I can get through the flan floor with no problem, but the monsters are just too fast on the other floors. It's not a matter of them being too strong, I just don't have time to hit them with my magic before one of the characters dies.
I was using the old gaming progress topic as a guide was to what I had been playing, but that topic was deleted, so... >_>

Beyond the Beyond (PS1)
Still at Zalagoon Town. I just noticed that Annie has more LP, VP, and overall Defense compared to cursed Samson. Ugh. Stupid Deus ex Machina... I just rearranged my formation to
Code: [Select]
1. Finn   2. Annie  3. Empty
4. Edward 5. Samson

Breath of Fire: The Dragon Warrior (SNES)
Played through and beaten. Average ending levels were in the 30-32 range, with Nina and Bleu being level 46 and 41 respectively. I actually solo-leveled Nina so she could get her last damn spell.

Breath of Fire II: The Fated Child (SNES)
Again, beaten. My final team was Deis, Rand, Ryu, and Lin, in that order, in the Defense formation.
We were in the 60s for our final levels, and needless to say, we kicked ass.

Breath of Fire III (PS1)
I think I just tried to "mug" Bunyan on Yraall road, last time I played. I'm saved somewhere in camp. I think I'm gonna do the wood-chopping scene real quick and catch up with Rei. I went through the path to Mt. Glaus, so the only thing I need to worry about is the actual mountain itself.

OK, did that. I'm saved at the Dragon Statue on Mt. Glaus chasing after that damned thing.

Breath of Fire IV: The Endless Ones (PS1)
Same place as last time--going through that stupid dungeon to Wyndia.

Chrono Cross (PS1)
Going through a short playthrough to get the least amount of characters for a GameFAQs topic. I'm not touching it much though.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride (SFC)
Still going to kick the Snow Queen's ass. I haven't touched it lately because I think I need to level up.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie (SFC)
Not playing because I'm awaiting the updated translation.

Dragon Warrior VII (PS1)
At the animal town. I'm supposed to be following Gabo to Deathpal. I think I'm like level 8 or so.

Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (GBA)
FFI: Doing a level 11 class change. I'm about to go to the Ice Cavern.
FFII: At the beginning of the game. I plan on mastering two weapons for everyone.

Final Fantasy III (FC)
At the cave where you get the Invincible. I think I'm still a Viking, Karateka, Bard, and Geomancer at level 28 or somesuch.

Final Fantasy IV Advance (GBA)
In the Underworld again, about to do the quest to get Sylph. I think I'm level 30 or so.

Final Fantasy V Advance (GBA)
Saved in the Wind Shrine before fighting the raptor boss there.

Final Fantasy VI Advance (GBA)
Restarted because I didn't like how I was raising my characters with espers. I'm about to do the Floating Continent again, this time raising my characters in an orderly fashion. I'm still leveling though; ever since I played Final Fantasy III on the SNES, it's been a staple of mine the get everyone's levels to 25 before leaving the World of Balance.

Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
Leveling everyone up to level 30 in Upper Junon. I never knew you could return there until I read Absolute Steve's guide. Huh.

Final Fantasy VIII (PS1)
About to do some stupid side quest in Dollet. I think it's just the stupid thing with the bones on the picture and the dog and stuff.

Final Fantasy IX (PS1)
Just about to go into Dali for the first time. Bleh.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (PS1)
Sitting on the world map somewhere. I think I just discovered the way to getting back home, and the plot kicked in.

Golden Sun (GBA)
Downloaded this and the sequel and applied the bass hack to each, and wow, the music is so much better. I'm never playing it on the handheld again.

The Legend of Dragoon (PS1)
Haven't touched it in the longest time. Heh. I think I'm still saved in that place on disc 2.

Lufia & the Fortress of Doom (SNES)
Saved in Odel. I think I need to do the Alumina side quest soon; wondeful. :bah: My theory on not leveling your characters was right, by the way--the hero is level 27, and everyone else is 24-26

Riviera: The Promised Land (GBA)
Saved at Wilhelm Bluff before Lacrima Castle. I restarted because according to the non-handholding guide, I missed a lot of stuff.

Sword of Mana (GBA)
Still in the Glass Desert to do something or other. I'm gonna need a walkthrough when I get back to playing this. Heh.

Tales of Destiny II (PS1)
Standing outside of Regulus Dojo, about to go KO some monks.

Tales of Phantasia (SFC)
Played it for like the eighth time and didn't hate it for the first. I guess it's OK if you haven't played other Tales of games in a while.

Tales of Phantasia (GBA)
Yes, after playing the Super Famicom version, I began the GBA version. I'm seriously obsessed with this game. As for actual progress, I'm about to go and make a pact with Undine.
Apparently, though, the text in this game is in ASCII, meaning I can edit the dialogue to my own preferences. Yay.

Wild ARMs (PS1)
Saved at Baskar Village. Of course, I cheated my ass off, so my characters are gods, so I've been breezing through the game.

Wild ARMs: 2nd Ignition (PS1)
Restarted because I didn't like what I named the NPCs. Uh...anyway, yeah. That's it. I'm saved in the Town of Meria with everyone together, and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing.

Beat RE5. Now grinding for Exchange Points and cash so I can get me an Infinite Ammunition Hydra shotgun.

That is some fucking nasty power. Shotguns are way better in RE5 than in RE4.
