IIRC, the Lucky Ring is supposed to make the Lucky Knife useful.

However, that is seemingly not the case (there's no property set that makes this happen).

Caps would be nice...

Eh?

The sentence is this..

"May be survivors inside."

The sentence doesn't make sense, regardless of how "may be" is combined or not.

The setence should read more like this...

"There may be survivors inside."
or
"Maybe there are survivors inside."

there's definitely nothing wrong with the way it's originally written.  people speak both ways, with or without the "there".

Done, but with JCE's suggested 84 additional attack power (Bringing it to 193) it might just be too good now.

Agreed, there's no reason for his line to be "perfect," it sounds much more natural the way it's currently written.
When you consider that the Ninja's Suit has an innate Offering, the Lucky Ring is of little consequence. Plus, I need a good reason to justify at 10000+GP purchase of the damned thing (please release this patch to test, since I just bought a set of 4).
I understand it sounds ok "naturally" in a movie or tv, it's harder to accept when written on a screen (we can agree to disagree, but it doesn't look right on screen, compared to all the other stuff that's in the script).

 :edit:
The patch does need the Genji Glove fix (especially when Gau now has a Claw+Shield combo available.
I do recall abusing Vanish+Doom in this hack... though it was limited.

This has the frozen ring fix, lucky ring fix, evade patch, vanish/doom patch, and Genji glove reduction patch:

http://dragonsbrethren.slickproductions.org/files/misc/ff3usht13c.zip

None of the text has been changed yet, I was going to dump the script and work on that today but we had some pretty bad storms all day so I wasn't on the computer much. I'd do it tonight but I want to get some work done on my FF4 enhancement and a few graphics for Pandora's Box.

Well, the script error are minor issues, but needs to be done sooner or later (I'm not going to just replay the entire hack for that purpose.. mainly because an FF3 hack doesn't have my attention long enough to redo all of it, I can't say the same for other hacks...).

I'm just biding my time with the other FF3 hack while the fixes are coming anyways.

Okay, feel free to patch that to it yourself for now, when I make another patch I'll include it. I think Leno's elemental display fix should be applied too, for the paladin ring.

Sure..

http://rapidshare.com/files/136450981/FF3Hack3.7z.html - Power Overwhelming

Note: It really has little to do with the Lucky Knife (it would've been just as insane). It has everything to do with available equipment options.

Has anyone ever considered making a "Back Row Compatible Weapon Patch"? Basically, the info would display in the area where Runic/Swordtech/2 Handed would be... so it would potentially save valuable text space and inform people of the property.

A long time ago..

This is not the time to use 's...

Figure out what made Farcen overpowered...

The Lucky Knife "may" need some retweaking (though, I think JCE's intent is to keep it useful as long as possible).. I think it would be obsolete once you start getting awesome weaponry in the WOR.

Regarding patches.. there needs to be a master database of patches and where to get them IMO. Maybe I'm a little nieve but it isn't a bad idea to make happen. Also, a recommended patch set should be included (or marked or whatever) so that those that want to hack the game can use it... or perhaps it should be integrated somehow with the FF3 Editor... (it's a thought, not a requirement though).

My recommended patch list (will include stuff already included, * will imply what I think JCE's patch needs):

http://www.rpglegion.com/ff6/hack/patches.htm
*Evade (must)
Rage (must if you actually want it)
*Rippler (must if available) - did JCE remove this or keep it?...
*Vanish/Doom (must)
Summon Aim (when applicable)

http://www14.brinkster.com/assassin17/patches.htm
*Genji Glove (must)
Pincer/Row (must if wanting a challenge)
*Runic Fix (must)
*Step Mine (must)
*Recapture the Glory (must)
Control Attacks Ignore MP Cost (must)
*Damn Yellow Streak (would be nice)
*Auto Status Expiring (must)
Control MP Response (must)
Invert Damage If Undead (I wonder...)
Sketch Bug (must)

http://www.angelfire.com/al2/imzogelmo/patches.html
*Multi-Steal (must)
*Grand Stairway (must)
Gogo Cursed Shield
Pink Gogo (because I actually use Gogo in Cyan's Dream)
*Mine Cart Fix (must)

http://slickproductions.org/ff6patches.php
*Can't Lose for Winning (must)
*Elemental Display Fix (must)
Offering Tweak (hmmm)
Summon This! (if applicable)
Anchors Aweigh (must)

Every patch I've made or helped to create is at Romhacking.net (except for Joker Doom, because I haven't updated it yet).

If this is chosen, Terii's Summon aiming fix isn't needed since mine included it. Good ol' one byte fixes.

119 bugs fixed and counting.

That's cool, but unfortunately that's not an entire list.

You lazy bastard!

 :edit:

The description doesn't sound quite right:

It should say more like this:
Reflects magic for those who equip this sacred ring
"From" is not the right word... plus you keep gender neutrality.

 :edit:

Description could be a little better:

Suggestion:
25% Hit Rate, feelin' lucky?
25% Chance To Hit, feelin' lucky?

38 Cutlasses?     Maybe the Lucky Knife needs something that would make it worthwhile for someone to keep it around later in the game?  Randomly cast a good spell when attacking?

Enough Rune Blades for all!

I'm not sure how much more overpowered you can make the Lucky Knight... seriously.

That's too much... but that would require some actual romhacking...
