actor "Yang's" weapons

So i have a problem, i need to remove whatever causes yang's actor to ignore the attack power of the equipped weapons. I feel like im missing something simple here, but im not sure. I just dont have a monk in my patch so i dont need this...

I actually believe it's either hard coded or there's a separate table that determines what items are a part of what type.  Someone refresh my memory here?

My only guess is that it is hardcoded to Yang's ID number because it doesn't follow any of the standard attributes of any normal character... I would though suggest you change the handedness attribute to be sure.

Here's a way you want to go about it..

Use a PAR code to modify Yang's level... once you accomplish that, run a trace of what happens when you goto the equip screen as the stats are recalculated. There, you should have some insight as to where the code for this is coming from...

Funny thing is if you equip a normal weapon on Yang it acts normal.

what do you mean it acts normal? thats what i want it to do! ive made it so that he can equip rods and knives (because im swapping him with his wife, sheila for my patch) but they do not alter his attack power at all. and its a problem because this actor is able to be assigned a magic set in both menu and battle unlike actor 15 and 16 which can only be set in battle, and i also need that actor for the auto battle scene anyway since i do not know how to change the actor/sprite they use...

I have also tried changing the handedness as well as the name slot that was assigned to this character. it seems more like its affiliated with the sprite/class data
