Emulator(s) question;
« on: February 19, 2011, 12:10:37 PM »
Is there any emulator out there that ups the 'ram' (or something) of the games so it doesn't have the games natural 'lag'?

One example I can think of it in FF6, Strago's triangle (lore) casting animation is slow when you have a large party and it's really fast in the Colosseum.

Does an Emulator exist that allows for that 'fast' no lag animations despite large parties and such?

I use ZSNES and I'm not even sure if it does with that, I haven't paid much attention (either because I'm used to it or I'm stupid enough to not notice lol).
What kind of emulators do you guys use?

What you seek does not exist. The point of an emulator is to act like what it's trying to mimic. The goal is to get everything right (or at least it should), which includes the lag. The lag is created because the CPU can't keep up, which has nothing to do with ram.

119 bugs fixed and counting.

Some emulators will improperly emulate slowdowns, but in general they kinda suck anyway(N64 emulation LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO *is shot*).

It's just not possible to do a good emulator that does not emulate slowdown. That's all there is to it.

In attempting to "accelerate" these slowdowns, you are very likely going to break something else.
