Title: Battletoads nsfe submission
Post by: Neilman on February 19, 2012, 03:16:19 PM
The current nsfe for Battletoads doesn't seem to work... It also has a few naming errors, so remade the nsfe using the nsf from zophars. Here's the changes: - added "Level 13 - The Armageddon" which was an unused track in the game. - corrected name on "Level 5/9 - Surf City/Terra Tubes" - these two levels use the same track (not levels 8&9 as was previously tagged) - adjusted the order of tracks
other stuff - the title screen music is missing the drums (i read that NotSoFatso can't emulate the DPCM sounds or something) - the Pause Beat is missing (possibly related to above) - the nsf doesn't have a ripper tagged, I got it from zophars domain

/me downloads the NSFE to test. It works
Yeah, you give no details, and it's working for me. I'm going to have to reject this submission.

What details are you looking for? Whenever I play the nsfe, it loads up fine, you can go to each different track through the notsofatso interface and winamp displays their titles fine, but nothing actually plays. There's no seeker for the tracks at all, it's like they're empty. I got a few friends to try it out too and they got the same results. Could you try it out on another machine? Can anyone else confirm this? In any case, the new nsfe I made fixes a few minor naming/order errors and even has the hidden level 13 track added, so I guess take it or leave it.

The ZD rip is older and broken, because it wasn't ripped properly.

[10:30:06] Gil_: The one with the raw PCM drum samples doesn't work in the other players because it requires a IRQ call. [10:30:40] Gil_: As well as a non-returning init. [10:31:12] Gil_: Basically, that fixed NSF will NOT play in any standard player. Nintendulator supports it though.

Version of Notso, and version of Winamp. If it's 5x, try a 2x version. Some of the 2x plugins work funky with 5x.
