Why do these topics exist? There's this nice big algorithms FAQ called, surprisingly enough, Algorithms FAQ that clearly spells out what is and isn't physical and magical.

It's an opinion thread, just in case it was a cool idea to criticize what is actually defined... or they like guessing out of their asses. It doesn't matter really.

Speaking of Spell Hit Rate.. in what order is all this stuff is applied:

1) Wisdom/Will hit rate boost
2) Slot 1 hit rate boost
3) Blind hit rate reduction

IIRC, blame TOSE for the port.

I don't have a middle click on this mouse though I do have a mouse scroll wheel that has that. Sometimes it's just faster to left click the bar and move it yourself though.

The "Wheel" is the middle button. If you can click on the wheel, it's a button. I have no idea if that was true since day 1, but that's how that have been for years.

Looks like GZDoom might be getting GPL'd as a result:

Now only if the Strife one was released as well.

You know, I've never actually played Strife before...

* Dragonsbrethren adds that to his list of things to try some day.

It was pretty cool for the last incarnation of the Doom engine (then again, Chex Quest is comparatively lame, I don't remember where in the timeline where Chex Quest was made...). I actually paid for it (yes, that sounds strange for some people) and it was pretty fun. By today's standards, it's lame, but given that the system allows you to talk to NPCs and the like, you may be a little surprised. Oh yea, and the voices were pretty good (it is the biggest file of the whole damn game).

I've heard quite a bit of issues with some of the ports (prior to this release) so it's a nice welcomed change.

Now only if the Strife one was released as well.

The Tower of Fanatics got a pretty big upgrade, I think you'll like it. Lore is available, along with a few other commands.

Monsters should be using Lores just as well... plus it pisses me off when a small number of elementals (weaknesses) can't be exposed in that freakishly annoying building...

+1

Me hates that tower...not because its hard but because its boring and easy.  Also, if you make it harder I suggest adding a save spot--which you can add after you beat that Dragon (in the event).

I'm more interested in the removal of the command restrictions once you reach the top of the tower (more importantly, after you beat the MagiMaster).. of course that needs to be balanced out with monster scripts that counter vs physical attacks. This would be akin to the Magnetic Cave in FF4...

I forget off the top of my head if I asked this already (I'm sure I have).. but there should be some removal of some restrictions for the Tower of Fanatics... particularly for Lores (and the Summon command, if that's available).

The sane method is always lock and point (refer to the existing thread).

Also, any button (including the d-pad) can scroll/close a dialogue box except for R and Start. The entire game can be played with the second controller unless you set multiple controllers in battle, in which case you must use the controller you set for each character in battle.

A fix for the 2nd controller would be nice.

Additionally, a minor hack for the L button to reverse rotate the characters sprites would also be nice.

What about Gau with imp berserk?

It's the same as everyone else... he fights mindlessly.

Bah to it because there's no 2k support. The ideas are promising, particularly the idea to have full control over mem management.. so that the browser doesn't crap on itself and you can close those windows that consume the most resources (fuck Flash).
