I’ve been playing ROM hacks and ports for years, and I kept running into the same problems:
cluttered or outdated sites
having to dig around multiple places just to find basic information
excessive ads
setup tutorials hidden inside giant forum threads
confusing patching steps
and basically no proper place that clearly lists decompiled PC/Android ports or notes which ones support online play
non-structured databases with a lot of junk rom hacks
It’s designed to be clean, beginner-friendly, and actually usable, with:
clear game pages and short overviews
setup & troubleshooting instructions that make sense
a dedicated section for decompiled ports
a web-based patcher that runs locally in your browser and can save your patched ROMs
no ads
It’s still early and missing tons of titles, but the foundation is there – I’d really like feedback, brutal honesty, ideas, or bug reports.
There’s also a submit form if you want to add your favourite hack/port and help shape it. (the site is super empty right now)
I’m trying to figure out the best (and most respectful) approach for adding projects:
Option 1: Anyone can submit their favourite ROM hack / port. Everything will clearly credit the original creator and the site will not host patches – just link back to the creator’s download page.
Option 2: Only original creators can submit their projects, meaning no entry unless the dev themselves wants it listed.
If you’ve made a ROM hack or decompiled port, how would you feel about your project appearing on a site like this (credited properly, linking to your page, no files hosted) without you personally submitting it?
Would that annoy you, or would you see it as helpful exposure?
Important note: it doesn’t host ROMs or patches – it only links to original creators / official sources and focuses on info and usability, not downloads.
Any Mention of Romhack Plaza is Automatically Hyperlinked to Old Reddit Drama Thread—and More

1. Intro
A project thread of mine in the RHDN forums apparently contains some image hotlinks (which I should be fixing anyway) that became broken after a certain point in time, possibly in mid-2025.
To be clear, these images worked fine for a period of time.
But why did these end up being broken?
This is what I saw today when attempting to fix the images.
It looks like any link to (update: mention of) Romhack Plaza (RHP) is being auto-converted to instead point to a Reddit thread regarding some old drama between the two sites (which Romhack Plaza’s predecessor already addressed here).
Could this be an accident?
Or is RHDN refusing to squash its beef with one it deems as its competitor?
I've spoken to RHDI folks, this rule was grandfathered in and was mostly meant for bad actors. It may even be changed in the future, but they have nowhere near the obscurity of RHDN. FCC, the webmaster of RHDI, is actually also part of RHPZ!
