Brought to You by the FFVI: Worlds Collide Community
The Final Fantasy VI: Worlds Collide community is hosting the latest iteration of the Ultima Derby event. Says event organizer Drinks Glue:
The Ultima Derby officially returns October 17th & 18th and we’re currently accepting sign ups!
There are two ways you can participate in the Ultima Derby Relay Race and help raise money for fantastic causes:
1.) You can volunteer as a runner or restream team member (Or both!) using this form and signups will be filled out into race matchups & restream duties based on your availability with the Ultima Derby flags.
2.) Interested in playing in the Ultima Derby but with different FF6WC flags? Or what about a different game? You can submit your own submissions (here) to participate in the Ultima Derby! Submissions should be 1v1 races with commentary.
You can follow clymax’s projects via FFVC or YouTube.
If you are a member of Retro Achievements, please consider voting to show support for the achievement developers of your favorite sets of this year.
Both the Nintendo and Sega system categories are now open for voting, with more categories coming soon.
Section 2 lists the achievement sets created by members of FFV Central.
The RA announcement post is reproduced in Section 3.
To vote, click on the name of the desired system listed in the announcement post.
Finally, check back periodically to see new voting links getting added when they become available.
2. Achievement Sets Created by FFV-Central Members
This list is intended as a reference for players who wish to show support for their fellow creators from FFV Central. A total of thirty-nine sets are listed.
NES Nominations
~Unlicensed~ Final Fantasy X1: Dark Chapter (solidification)
~Unlicensed~ Final Fantasy X2: Light Chapter (solidification)
~Unlicensed~ Final Fantasy X3: Final Chapter (solidification)
SNES Nominations
Dragon Ball Z: Super Gokuuden Totsugeki Hen (solidification)
The RA Awards are the community’s opportunity to highlight their favorite sets, developers, contributors, and community members from the prior year. . . . .
This year we will be doing nominations for each system, rather than cutdowns. A Google form will be used to nominate sets that you enjoyed from each family of systems. Sets that receive the highest number of nominations will then be put to a vote to determine the winner. After the system nominations, we will also open nominations for staff and community members that contributed in 2024.
Nominations/votes should be based on the ACHIEVEMENT SET, not the game
You are NOT required to make a nomination for each every category/system
We at FFV Central celebrate the week of the first anniversary (July 31) of our moderator solidification as an achievement developer.
solidification’s journey has yielded achievements for virtually all eligible hacks of Final Fantasy VI, among other games.
Showing no signs of slowing down despite the memory woes that FFVI is notorious for, solidification is now eyeing coding achievements for hacks of Final Fantasy IV.
FFIV narrowly edged out FFV in a community poll recently held in the Discord.

The Rando Marathon is a biannual weekend event celebrating all the great and wonderful video game randomizers. The event is held on the second weekend of June and December, each year. The marathons raise money for charity with 100% of all proceeds going to the charity. All randomizer communities are invited to join these events.
