Writes Neo fresh off of clearing Dragon Quest I on stream (playlist here):

Time to play the legendary JRPG that started it all!

The first Dragon Quest game, this will be a playthrough stream of the SNES version of the game!

However this time it’s randomized by my fellow friend, youtuber and Rom hacker ‪@cIymax‬!

This Rom hack is called Dragon Quest: Ablaze and I will be doing a blind speed run of it!

The finale of the stream will be a giveaway of ‪@cIymax‬’s version of this hack for the NES version of Dragon Quest I, the amount of copies given will be determined by how many likes this stream gets!

  • Randomizers Compared

    Dragon Quest Series

For the Aflame family of mods, click here. For clymax’s projects, click here.

This post compares randomizers that coders have made for the Dragon Quest series over the years.

Both respinners and repatchers are included in this comparison.

Respinners refer to internal randomizers, also called integrated or self-randomizers.

Repatchers refer to external randomizers such as web- and app-based randos.

    Comparison Chart

Randomizers that are not respinners are repatchers.

Note that “⏯” represents a feature that can be toggled in game.
