I don’t want to come across as rude to people who worked hard on the text rewrite. I’m merely venting out some frustrations… Just keep that in mind when reading this. While a few things were indeed made more clear… that actually comes at the complete detriment to the spirit of the game… which is mystery. The descriptions were MEANT to be vague and riddle like in nature to match closely with how it feels to play Metroid.

The titles are mostly left in tact, and I’m mostly fine with them, except with “And I’m a Rebel!” I am vehemently, vehemently against this change. This completely ruins a childhood reference that was one my personal stamps on the set, I have no power to change any edits done, but please revert the title back to its Spanish counterpart. …please. And also, for the narpassword warning, if you’re gonna make me say something I clearly didn’t, you might as well remove me “saying” the quote altogether. I’m also very unhappy about that description’s change, and the complete removal of the “UwU”. Again, another little stamp to indeed showed it was me. I put an unbelievable amount of work into the set… the least I could’ve gotten out of it if no one played it, was a bit of my quirky nature still shining through in some titles and descriptors.

I spent nearly as much time on the titles and descriptions as I did the artwork. I’m fine with a few things being made more clear, for how they’re in actuality implemented code wise, but so much much of the fun light hearted spirit I put in has been removed, and it sadness me greatly. This set was intended to be a work of art. I know that goes against this sites goals of being very clear cut, and how others sets tend to be… but all the oddities is what made this set feel special (even if you had no intention of playing it).

TL;DR

  • The quirkiness and soul of the set has been nurtured and corporatized, and it saddens me greatly. (It is what is I guess…)
  • Change back “And I’m a Rebel” back to it’s Spanish counterpart (please… TwT)
  • And remove me from my 4th wall break in the Narpas cheat warning, as they are not my words, and it makes me uncomfortable.

Despite these personal grievances, I appreciate the work being done to improve the set. I honestly thought it would just wither away and die…
