Step 1
Figure out if your rom is headered or not.
Then figure out if the romhack patch expects a headered rom or not.
If the answers match, the patch should work. You are done.
If the answers don’t match, move on to Step 2.
Step 2
Because the answers don’t match, you’ll need to convert either the rom or the romhack patch. You don’t need to convert both.
Option A: Converting the ROM from headered to headerless or the other way around
You can use the Advanced SNES Rom Utility.

Option B: Converting the romhack patch from headered to headerless or the other way around
You can use the Headerizer.

After converting one or the other, patching the rom should work. Good luck, and have fun!
