  • Bionic Commando: Item Randomizer Released

    The Bionic Commando: Item Randomizer mod for the NES has been released courtesy of clymax.

    Like all of clymax’s rando mods, it’s a self-randomizer, so just simply reset the game to play a new seed.

    A release build for Romhack Plaza is being considered, or you can get early access to the dev build on Game Jolt.

    Release Build: Features

    Vehicle encounters have been disabled.

    Development Build: Features

    Bullet farm rate boosted to 10x.

    Hostile-area rewards randomized. Seeding not yet supported.

    Duplicate items are prevented from being randomly rolled.

    You now get unlimited continues.

    You now have power to access areas 8, 10, and 12 from the start.

    The barriers in Areas 6 and 7 have been despawned to start.

    So, what do you think? How would you view Bionic Commando as a sequel to Commando on arcade? The Japanese version, Hitler no Fukkatsu: Top Secret, has a lot of content that got censored and is worth checking out.

  • Super Adventure Island II: Item Randomizer Released

    The Super Adventure Island II: Item Randomizer mod for the NES has been released courtesy of clymax.

    Like all of clymax’s rando mods, it’s a self-randomizer, so just simply reset the game to play a new seed.

    Release Build: Features

    All the gates have been pre-opened.

    Development Build: Features

    Shove, Up Jab, and Down Jab are pre-learned.

    The King is pre-marked as having been talked to.

    Random encounters have been disabled.

    Non-boss items have been randomized. The randomized item is shown on pickup. Seeding not yet supported.

    You will now start with 100 gold even though you can’t talk to the King.

    Coin pickups boosted to 10x in value.

    The rock on Poka-Poka Island has been pre-broken. This is because stronger weapons don’t break the rock.

    The base game is the Western localization of Dragon Slayer IV: Drasle Family.

    Release Build: Features

    Continues now unlimited, up from four.

    Crusher and Wall 2 given at start.

    Wall 2 now lets you climb up walls.

    Development Build: Features

    Sofia sub-weapons no longer cost ammo to use, but you must have at least one ammo to use them.

    The progression requirement for using Homing Missiles has been removed.

    Jason can now jump repeatedly in the air.

    You no longer lose weapon power when taking damage as Jason.

    Sofia ammo and Jason weapon power are now carried across continues.

    Jason will no longer take falling damage.

    Boss items are fully randomized on pickup​. Seeding not yet supported.

    Duplicate random items prior to the endgame have been eliminated.
