Project to hack in custom “wounded” sprites for the FFV heroes when they are Knocked Out. The working title is “Wounded Wardrobe”.
Has two phases: 1) control the palette change so that it doesn’t always revert to Freelancer colors; 2) insert new sprites upon KO, versus always using the same sprite.

Says hack author El Forko in an RHDN submission here:
This mod provides a fairly substantial overhaul to the mechanics, items, spells, and monsters of Final Fantasy 4, while leaving the world and story intact. My goal was to preserve the general feel of the original game, while making the battles and resource management more interesting.
Character stats have undergone major changes: Defense and Vitality have been vastly improved and a single Evade stat has replaced the other defensive stats. Magic Defense is now a single stat that mitigates a percentage of magic damage. Will now determines how strong Summons are in addition to White Magic.
Levels and XP are gone: your characters now have the same base stats throughout the game.
All weapons and armor have been redesigned. Equipment is now the only way to boost your characters’ stats, and choosing your armor provides more flexibility in how you prioritize and build your characters.
All enemy stats have been adjusted, and some enemy behavior has been changed.
The physical damage algorithm has been rewritten.
The power and cost of all spells has been adjusted, cast times have been removed, and some spells have been altered in other ways. Certain spells are now learned from NPCs.
The end-game experience has been changed to be a bit more open-world: the Sylph and Summons cave are now about as difficult as the Lunar Subterrane is, and the optional bosses have been redesigned.
This mod was designed to be a bit harder than vanilla, but not a crazy hardcore level of difficulty.

The World of Ruin in the FFVI-themed mod of FFT is now in beta courtesy of Connor and Chelsea Dunn.
This update comes three years after an original announcement featuring the World of Balance.
Says Connor in the original announcement, which includes download links:
The plan is to avoid any world map/randoms/stores and just jump from one battle to another. I’m calling it [“]battle” rush style. Essentially the mod will assume that the player already knows the story.
The main characters will be: Terra, Edgar, Celes, Sabin, Shadow, Cyan, Strago and Locke. Mog, Umaro and Banon will pop in as guests. No human type1/2 sprite exists for Mog. I worked on one for a bit and it was a huge pain in the butt.
Pride’s innate jump hack is used to add basic magic for all playable characters. This includes: fire, ice, bolt, cure, raise, poison, esuna, haste, slow, shell, protect and float. All pc’s have innate throw item and all items are learned with 0 jp. Hence, they should all have: Attack, Special, Item and Magic available. The party will be immune to crystal and treasure to keep the party intact.
Terra and Celes will have unique skillsets that have their own innately learned magic. Many of these quite a bit more powerful than basic magic. Terra leans heavier towards magic and Celes toward physicals. Debating adding “runic” as a Reaction for Celes.
Locke will come with all the various Steal skills. I would like to switch bows graphic with a chakram to simulate some of his ranged options. (Talcall already did some awesome work on editing animations but I couldn’t crack the wep.shp)
Edgar will have most of his abilities actually be different weapons. Magic guns swapped to Bio-Blaster, Noise-Blaster and Flash. A couple of other abilities require equip gun to use. Hoping to make a passable chainsaw out of another weapon.
Sabin’s skills follow most of the original, but no spiraler (it’s worthless). Skills would require MP.
Cyan skills: Dispatch, Slash, Empower (drain hp only), Quadra Slam (yeah barrage!), Stunner (maybe cleave?) Retort as a special counter dealing extra damage as a unique. Skills will require charge time.
