The Ys III: Wanderlust mod on FC has been released courtesy of clymax.

This mod is unofficial and is unaffiliated with Nihon Falcom.

Like all of clymax’s rando mods, it’s a self-randomizer, so just simply reset the game to play a new randomization.

A release build for Romhack Plaza is being considered, or you can get early access to the dev build on Game Jolt.

A leaderboard is also available here.

    Development Build: Features

    Tester: Xynosaur (YouTube)

Chest items are now randomized. Seeding not yet supported. Duplicates can be rolled.

All locations on the world map are unlocked to start.

    Experience boosted to 16x.

    Gold boosted to 16x.

You deal a minimum of one damage instead of zero.

    Ring boosted to 16x.

Ring efficiency improved to 16x. Specifically, ring is reduced every 64f instead of 4f.

    Player i-frames increased from 30f to 60f.

Town HP regen boosted to 4x. Regen ticks now occur every 1f instead of 4f.

Will o’ The Wisps Jewel given to start. This is used to light the final dungeon.

    Intro cutscene skipped.

All progression barriers removed. Below are just a few examples.

Duplicates have been removed. You will no longer roll an item you already have.

If your inventory is full, you will roll an Herb.

In Tigray Quarry, after you get the item from Dewey, you can now despawn Dewey by reloading the room.

Two cutscenes leading to the Galbalan fight are now skipped.

In Tigray Quarry, you can now get Dewey’s item even if you’ve defeated the ghost boss.

Known issue: the first chest room has softlock potential based on the chest roll changing collision detection in the room.

You can now press A, B, Select, and Start all at the same time to reset the game.

In the menu, the cursor now wraps up and down when you press the D-pad.

On the world map, the cursor can now wrap left and right.

In stores, the cursor can now wrap up and down.

In the Equip menu, the cursor now wraps horizontally and vertically.

Galbalan can now be damaged even when his hands are still alive.

    Quadra jump has been added.

The Ys III: Wanderlust mod on SNES has been released courtesy of clymax.

Chest items are now randomized. Story-progression items not yet randomized.

Currently, duplicates can still be rolled.

    Experience boosted to 16x.

    Gold boosted to 16x.

    Ring boosted to 16x.

Locked doors have been unlocked to start.

    Player i-frames increased from 20f to 60f.

Skips dialogue that blocks progression. Also skips dialogue that is only heard once.

    World-map locations unlocked to start.

Ogre’s Ball of Fire no longer needed to light Galbalan’s Island.

Ring efficiency improved to 6.4x. Specifically, ring is reduced every 64f instead of 10f.

    All progression blocks removed.

Cutscenes that return you to town from dungeons are now whitelisted from cutscene skips.

Reenabled cutscene skips in the room with the cutscene trigger, when heading toward the boss rather than returning from defeating the boss.

You can now do a triple jump. But beware of jumping out of bounds, as it can softlock your game.

Town health regen boosted to 4x. Does not affect Ring health regen.

You now deal a minimum of one instead of zero damage against enemies, including bosses.

The final boss is now vulnerable even when his heart isn’t visible. This is the case even when one or more of his hands are still visible.

The dialogue for finding herb medicine in the volcano has been whitelisted from being skipped.

You can now hold the L button to force a skipped dialogue to still occur.

The pool of random items has been shrunk to include only items that drop from chests in vanilla.

    Duplicate rolls have been removed.
