A while back, YouTube removed public Dislike counts as announced here (emphasis added):

We’re making the dislike counts private across YouTube, but the dislike button is not going away.

This change will start gradually rolling out today.

Despite such a statement—and perhaps to no one’s surprise—YouTube recently finally added insult to injury by actually removing the Dislike button from Shorts, as announced here:

[W]e’re … retiring the dislike button.

Instead, we’ll rely on … “Not Interested” and “Don’t recommend this channel,” to … tune your feed and serve up content….

The update sparked discussion across the web, such as on the r/mildlyinfuriating subreddit.

    Thanks a lot, YouTube.

  • Sony to End Physical PlayStation Games in 2028

    Citing Consumer “Preferences”

Says playstation in a blog post here:

As consumer preferences and the broader entertainment industry continue to shift away from physical discs to digital, physical game disc production for all new games releasing on PlayStation consoles will be discontinued starting January 2028.

Following this date, new games will be available on PlayStation Store and at retailers in digital formats only.

This transition has no impact on games that already released, or will be releasing, prior to January 2028 in disc format.

In a now-privated video formerly available here, the content creator behind Cube Dimensions, a channel on Minecraft Shorts and with nearly a quarter of a million subscribers, made a public appeal to be remonetized by YouTube after being allegedly wrongfully demonetized.
