In a recent official blog post, YouTube states:

New creators applying for YPP will need 8,000 qualified watch hours in the last 365 days, or 20 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days.

YouTube is making changes to the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) for *new* applicants.

Starting February 1, 2027, creators will need:
1. 8000 Qualified Watch Hours (up from 4000), or
2. 20M Qualified Shorts Views (up from 10M)
