1. Future with RetroAchivements

If you haven’t heard the news, the site, RetroAchivements have decided to ban the rom-hack known as ‘Pokémon Clover” due the content of said hack.

Despite its controversial nature, if was in the top 10 of the most requested sets on the site.

However due to a vocal minority pressuring the site admins they have decided to ban all future development on any sets dedicated to Clover.

I am completely against this decision and I will refuse to use the site any longer if this decision stands.

Unfortunately this would mean I would no longer upload videos that have anything to do with RetroAchivements.

This is a shame, due to most of my videos and I assume most of my subscribers are subscribed to me due to said videos.

However, I will not support a site that will bend the knee to a vocal minority.

So if the decision is not reversed at will halt all RA videos and possible either private or delete all RA content on my channel.

And now Custer’s Revenge’s achievements have been nuked from RetroAchievements.

That’s the last straw for me unfortunately.

I will be deleting my account and will be deleting all of my videos that retain RA. Good riddance.

Goodbye RetroAchievements. It was fun.

Even if they reverted the changes I will still not be coming back.

Sorry for those who came to my channel for help on certain achievements, but I will not give any support to a site who bends the knee to a vocal minority.

Silencing Criticism

Having previously already shadowbanned yours truly on Discord presumably for Clovergate coverage, on or around October 24 Retro Achievements removed the link to FFV Central from my user profile.

It should be noted that the link was posted well before Clovergate occurred and, hence, before this site even contained a section on Clovergate.

YoniArousement’s flagship romhack is Bishoujo Super Street Fighter II: Glamor Queen. It’s a combo and fighter replacement ROM Hack of the Sega Genesis version of Super Street Fighter II. It features tweaked move sets, edited sounds, juggles and adds dashes. The project came about when he was tweeting Game Genie codes for the game.

1. Player Account Banned Presumably for Sharing an RA Forum Post on Social Media during Clovergate

The original post that was shared was later quietly removed from the RA forums. That post is also covered here.

Recently, RetroAchievements made an announcement surrounding a ROM Hack called Pokémon Clover, and removed an achievement set for a game called 177. It caused a heated discussion about controversial subjects.

The banned player contacted the RA admins via email to appeal the ban. No response has been received in two weeks.

3. Previously Wrongfully Denied Junior-Dev Role for Unspecified Off-Site Behavior, Presumably

YoniArousement previously shared a set plan for one of his hacks, on his own blog.

After requesting to be a Junior Developer, however, he got the following response from RA’s Code Review team on May 27, 2025.

After discussion, the team decided to reject your request to enter the Junior Developer program. The team is not comfortable with the type of content connected to your online presence. It’s contrary to the team’s values and the type of community we are trying to foster. Thanks for your interest, but we must respectfully decline.

Is Retro Achievements Big Brother, watching your every move on the Internet?

4. Illegally Hosting Cloned Patches of Presumably Wrongfully Banned Users

YoniArousement never authorized Retro Achievements to host these patches. So why are they still up, especially when even the mod author has been banned?
