  • Player Help Channel for Select Consoles

Finding yourself stuck in a mod or game? Read on!

A player help channel is now available via Discord as a new pilot program for members of our subreddit, r/FinalFantasyMods.

The help channel is intended for players running into bugs, glitches, softlocks, or other technical issues when playing any mod or game featured in this subreddit and on a supported console.

Currently, the following consoles are supported.

    • NES/FC
    • SNES/SFC
    • GB/GBC
    • GBA
    • PSX
    • PS2

Both Western and Japanese roms/images are supported.

Our modders will coordinate with appropriate mod authors via the Internet or, in some cases, offer direct assistance on your issue. Depending on the issue, we can fix save files, save states, or even the mod or underlying game in some cases.

Here are just some examples of what our modders can fix.

    • FF5 Double EXP, Gold and ABP fixed
    • Mime Galuf Battle Sprites in FFV fixed
    • Chrono Trigger: Prophet’s Guile crashes fixed
    • Final Fantasy X2: Light Chapter: Lodestone Cavern softlock fixed
    • Final Fantasy VI: General Leo Edition: Figaro Cutscene crash fixed

Disclaimer: we will not provide nor ask you to provide any roms/images when we assist you.

Fact is, I spent the better part of 3 months busting my ass off making this set, only for my work to be invalidated at the last minute. This is just about the most disrespectful thing you could possibly do to a dev. I have no desire to come back until I can be certain that I’ll be allowed to work on whatever I want without having shit like this happen whenever a mod or DevComp member gets too antsy about my contrarian stances or if my tongue is too sharp for their liking (I did word some of my arguments harshly, but there were no instances of me outright insulting another person on this site).

All this and then I find out you already had a proper way of handling this back in the old days. You have no excuse.

[Update: in a follow-up post, the closure of the site has been formalized, and the remaining staff will be joining Romhack Plaza (RHP) [formerly Romhacks.org (RHDO)].]

Romhack Heaven (RHH), a website intended as a replacement for Romhacking.net in the wake of its partial closure as reported here, has announced a decision to close the majority of submissions.
