    Announcement trailer courtesy of Zophar:

    Says reviewer Modern Vintage Gamer:

The two original developers of ZSNES zsKnight and Demo are back!

    Introducing Super ZSNES.

Re-written completely from scratch, this GPU-powered SNES emulator is here to bring you the following: some of what is familiar, some of what’s new, and then some of what goes beyond.

In today’s episode we take a closer look at the inner workings of Super ZSNES, and discuss why I think it is a very exciting breakthrough in 16-bit tile-based emulation.

Unlike its predecessor, this endeavor appears to be a closed-source Unity project.

The emulator is available here. You can support the development effort via Patreon here.

  • FFVI: Turn-Based Released

Romhack of Final Fantasy III (SNES)

For clymax’s projects, click here. You can also follow him on YouTube or Twitter.

The Turn-Based mod of Final Fantasy III on SNES has been released courtesy of clymax.

The mod is unofficial and unaffiliated with Square Enix.

    Release Build: Features

You can find the release on Romhack Plaza here.

Battles are now in turn-based mode.

No more Active Time Battle (ATB) system.

Due to the way the mod interacts with the vanilla game engine, passing turns between characters with a full ATB bar still advances enemy ATB slightly.

    Development Build: Features

You can now toggle turn-based via the config menu. The default setting is on.

The sound setting was repurposed, so this setting now controls both turn-based and sound.

A demo of the mod is below.

So, what do you think? What’s your favorite battle system in the Final Fantasy series? Comment below, or come check us out on Discord.
