  • Final Fantasy V Remix: Master Thief Released

You can follow clymax’s projects via FFVC or YouTube.

The Master Thief mod of the Final Fantasy V: Remix (FF5R) mod of Final Fantasy V on SFC has been released via commission and courtesy of clymax.

The Master Thief mod is also compatible with derivative mods, such as waterga’s IC mod (FF5r-IC).

It belongs to the new lineup of “Super Cheat” mods by clymax. They go beyond what cheat codes can typically give you. This lets you take full control of your gameplay.

A release build for Romhack Plaza is being considered, or you can get early access to the dev build on Game Jolt.

    Development Build: Features

Grind epic loot like never before! A single patch gives you max steal chance in the Remix mod and across all three rom chapters of the seminal IC mod.

The base mod, Remix, supports multiple steal attempts on the same enemy. The Super Cheat boosts steal chance to 100% even without Thief’s Glove equipped.

In the Super Cheat, the outcome of “doesn’t have anything!” no longer applies. You can now steal more copies of an item you’ve already stolen.

The Super Cheat lets you steal from the enemy’s item slots in a cycle, as shown in these screenshots from IC.

The item slots are stolen from in the following order: common steal, rare steal, rare drop, common drop. Note that in Remix and IC, common drops have a 100% chance to drop.

If the bestiary has no item assigned to that enemy item slot, you’ll steal an empty item (“”).

For what it’s worth, a different enemy form can have a different set of slots you can steal from.

So, what do you think? Where does FF5r-IC rank among Japanese mods of the SFC trilogy of the Final Fantasy series? How do you think it compares to FFV Remix? Comment below, or come check us out on Discord.
