This a randomizer for people who want to just play random challenge runs in Final Fantasy V:

    • while having the option to automatically enforce game rules and grant challenge rewards via a romhack when played via our web emulator;
    • without logging into Twitter (clip) or registering for a user account,
    • without waiting on a bot,
    • without trying to find some hidden, obscure link, and
    • without getting yelled at by some guy who’s more interested in whatever stupid book he’s trying to peddle because he definitely does not care about Final Fantasy V anymore and just coasts on being the “main man” for Four Job Fiesta.

Brought to you by team Fiesta Redux of FFV Central:

Frontend and randomization algorithms by solidification

Romhack and web-server and emulator integrations by clymax

Form Stylesheet and Javascript by xJ4cks (blog)

    Jobs Unlock:

Does not affect randomization. Our web emulator currently only supports “At Game Start”, so choose it to give yourself the option of auto badges and leaderboards by playing in our web emulator. Doing so restricts you to certain flagsets. Also, “At Game Start” cannot be rerolled until your run is marked completed.

    Run Type:

    Rod Breaking:

    Options:

    • Berserker Multiplier x0

Romhack of Final Fantasy V (SFC)

You can follow the work of HatZen08 via RHDN.

Sora is a new streamer aiming to bring more awareness to the awesome romhacks out there like FFVI: T-Edition, Chrono Trigger+, FFIV: Ultima Plus, Secret of Mana+, etc. You can follow Sora via YouTube or Twitch.

Mod sampler livestream brought to you by Sora. Full playthrough may be coming soon—check his streaming roadmap here.

Update: the hack has been published on Romhack Plaza here courtesy of clymax.

Says hack author HatZen08 on this respinner in a forum post on FF6Hacking here:

It is a built-in randomizer. After the name setup, all characters will be randomized. Each different name should create a different setup. You can’t change their jobs or abilities.

The ‘row’ and ‘def’ commands were changed to ‘fray’ and ‘heal’. ‘fray’ will attack a random enemy with a fight command and ‘heal’ will recover[] half of the caster hp. It is designed to be a basic attack/healing if nothing better is available.

The first command will be a random menu-alike ability, like white, black, throw, sing, drink, etc. The other three comands will be abilities without menu, like dance, gaia, flirt, guard, etc.

The weapons and gears that the characters can equip were randomized as well.

The jobs were updated and have old, new or updated traits. Those traits can change the behaviour of the ‘fray’ and ‘heal’ commands and add unique quirks to the characters.

    Demo clip courtesy of clymax.

Regarding a recent update, version 1.1, HatZen08 adds:

I updated the project. In summary, the changes were new/updated abilities and new counter traits. Instead of counter only with the ‘fight’ command, others commands can be used as counters instead of only ‘fight’.

For balance and to add the new counters i changed the traits by job.

The hack incorporates the GBA Script Port addendum to the RPGe translation.

Additional documentation is slated to be provided on the release of the hack.

Update: the documentation and even assembly source are now included, available on FF6Hacking here.
